Nuzul Al-Quran, the Islamic holiday observed on the seventeenth day of Ramadan as a celebration of the date that the Quran was revealed to Prophet Muhammad, took place earlier this month in a markedly subdued manner after government alerted against mass gatherings amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.
In lieu of the usual celebrations, Progresif joined the Muslim world in scaled-down celebrations of the auspicious occasion, and yesterday, 21 May 2020, attended a small ceremony at Pusat Da’wah Islamiah to make a donation of 100 Mushaf to Brunei’s Muallaf (Muslim converts) community
With the hope of seeking the blessings of the holy month of Ramadan by sharing the knowledge of the Holy Quran with the Muallaf community, Progresif’s Director of Human Capital, Mohd. Yazdi Bin Hj Yahya, presented a donation of 100 Mushaf (compiled written pages of the Quran) to Uztaz Haji Abd Aziz bin Haji Abdul Kahar, Assistant Director of Pusat Da’wah Islamiah. Also in attendance were Progresif’s partners in the initiative, Haji Mohd Rano Iskandar Bin Abdullah from Ranoadidas and Haji Hidayathullah bin Haji Tajudeen, Managing Director, Samima Sdn Bhd
Issuing a statement on the company’s contribution, Hjh Nurul Haniah, Progresif’s CEO, said that “Although these are strange times we are living in, Progresif has a responsibility to share goodwill and hope with the communities we serve, and in this case, we hope the Muallaf community are able to gain blessings and insight from the use of these Mushaf”.
