Dear me,
First of all, I want to say that I am so proud of you. Life hasn’t been too easy lately, and I am so sorry for that. But I can promise you this, tomorrow will be a brighter day.
It's okay to cry. Know you are stronger than you think you are. You may not realise it now, but your past does not define your future and opportunity awaits those that look for it. So, stay curious and enjoy every minute of the beautiful journey ahead of you.
Through the pages of so many books, not only will you be inspired by the stories of real-life heroes and exciting places, you will find your solace and a world of possibility at your fingertips.
University will be daunting, making new friends, trying new things but remember, anything truly worthwhile is uphill. And you will realise your dream of becoming a doctor is just around the corner.
So, to the girl with the big imagination, who would rather fight the dragons than be rescued by the prince, the girl who was made fun of for being different, the girl who was laughed at when she told people she wanted to change the world; to you, I say keep your head up, because one day, you will be able to reach people with that same voice and values that you hold close to your heart. Let that be your guiding star.
And whenever you are afraid to jump or take that leap of faith, remember the words of Erin Hanson:
'There is freedom waiting for you, on the breezes of the sky. And you ask, "What if I fall?" Oh, but my darling... What if you fly?'
Yours,
Noor Affizan Rahman
